HB 829 Passes out of Senate Committee on State and Local Affairs
Today April 12th, the Kentucky Senate Committee on State and Local Affairs passed HB 829 out of committee on an 8-1 vote. Bill Cosponsor Representative Jason Nemes testified alongside Senator Steven West for the bill.
The bill now will be brought to the senate floor for a full vote. While the bill awaits a vote, you can call your Senator at 1-800-372-7181 and ask them to vote No on HB 829.
If the bill passes, it can still be killed with a vote from the Governor, and if the Legislature declines to override the veto. You can contact the Governor’s Office here, and ask that Governor Beshear Veto HB 829 if passed.
If you’d like to watch the committee hearing, you can find it here, with the testimony for the bill, and commentary from the Senate Committee.
